FAQs

What are the prerequisites for this training?

Participants must be licensed mental health professionals or actively pursuing licensure.

Pre-licensed therapists who are actively pursuing a mental health license through their
state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor are also eligible for training. Some of these
license types include associate, intern, limited, provisional, temporary and pre-license.

Second-year students only may qualify for the course. You must include a copy of your transcripts, practicum or internship details and a letter from your supervisor which includes the supervisor’s license information and number stating you may take the course and will have clients with whom you will be able to use EMDR.

Does this training count toward EMDR certification?

Yes. This is an EMDRIA-approved Basic Training, which is the first step toward certification. Our Basic Training course includes 40 hours of teaching along with 10 hours of consultation calls.

If you wish to further pursue EMDR certification, Coast to Coast will work with you to complete the next steps in the certification process.

Do I need prior experience with trauma therapy?

No, but experience with trauma-informed care is helpful.
